Lush is honestly my favourite thing. If someone told me I could only shop at one shop for the rest of my life I would learn to eat facemasks and survive and shop only at Lush.
You can imagine my excitement when I try a new perfume, especially one combining my favourite fragrances; Violet, vanilla and violet. (I know. I like violet)
I had never tried any of Lush’s other Tuca Tuca fragrance-esque products (Bathos, gratuitous violets, Tuca Tuca massage bar to name the few that I know of) so I wasn’t fully sure what to expect.
The smell of Lush’s perfumes change throughout the day, and smell different on everyone’s skin and this versatility is one of the reasons I love them so much but, nonetheless, I read a few reviews online and read that many other Tuca Tuca users found it either ‘very floral’, ‘sweet scented’ or said that it ‘started off quite blokey’ and I have to say that I agree with all of them BUT nothing could have prepared me for the smell I encountered when I first rubbed this onto my wrists:
Cigarette smoke. Don’t get me wrong, I love this perfume and I do still like the manly start to procedings, I love me some man, but for the first half an hour or so I walk around worrying that people will think I have just got back from having a sneaky fag (which I haven’t) rather than thinking “Who on earth is that delightfully fragrant woman?”.
The good news is that after the nerve wracking first half hour or so the floral sweet notes emerge and I feel feminine again. Huzzah! It’s not overly violet-y, or overly vanillary either but it is definitely the best bits of both.
Normally once I get past that stage I will reapply, feeling that I need more more more but if I leave it my god is it sophisticated. Suddenly, when I sniff my wrist ( and I do smell them) I can smell deliciously sweet spice with a very very slight woody undertone. Honest to Patricia perfection.
I whole heartedly reccomend this perfume, although the first smells you get aren’t quite what one expects from the perfume and so I give it an 8/10 on the Lush review scale

I have never tried any of their perfumes yet, do you need to re apply a lot? Tuca tuca does have a special scent 😀 I liked it, until I applied it, it was just too… not good.
Honestly, I think I re-apply too often because I get so over excited about it. I re-apply normally every couple of hours, but I do try to stop myself as I really like the end notes. I definitely recommend waiting it out a little as once it gets over that first bout of being a bit too strong it is really lovely! (:
I also use Vanillary and Lust and I’ll be reviewing those too fairly soon! x
So you don’t have to re apply it a lot of times, only if you can’t stop yourself from doing so 😀 it actually sounds like a really nice product to use, I should try it out too.
I am going to keep an eye out for those other reviews you are going to write, maybe they can help me decide which perfume to get.
I think you shouldn’t need to re apply often at all, for me I think it’s the habit!
Ah the best way to decide is in store, they smell very different on everyone and as they change I would recommend trying one you liked the smell of, leaving it on and then leaving the store and coming back to decide to give you a chance to see if it’s right for you, unless it clicks instantly (which I know Vanillary did for me) (:
You are right about that! Like Tuca tuca, it smells good, but not on my skin, a scents always smells different when you apply it. Vanillary sounds like a scent I would really, really like 😀 I like vanilla products.
